Toronto Christian Alliance

We are committed to building up a missional, cross-cultural church.

The Shenzhou Church for many years has been a refuge for refugees and new immigrants. Many people have come to receive Jesus through this ministry. Founding pastor, Ellen Rae decided to leave the ministry to complete theological training, placing the church in the care of a new pastor, Kwan Wa Ho. Through his love for the Lord, he cares for the many refugees and new immigrants that Toronto receives each year.

According to Statistics Canada in the years 2008-2009, under the Refugee Protection category, there are approximately 40,000 referred cases and 65,000 pending. There are many challenges involved in working among the refugees and new immigrants. They come to Canada with hurt from political and religious persecution, financial difficulties due to debts, loan sharks and high interest rates, marriage crisis due to long-time separation of spouses and language problems due to lack of schooling and training.

A ministry like this is in need of strong financial support. In previous years, this ministry was heavily funded by the Presbyterian Church of Canada. People within the church no longer have the financial viability to make sufficient donations to support the ministry. We decided to take a leap of faith and left the Presbytery to merge with the C&MA in Canada. We look forward to seeing how God will work through this partnership.

I am Alliance inside and out. I worked part-time as a lay pastor in an Alliance church and was baptized there. I have planted an Alliance church and worked there as a full-time pastor. I have studied in the Alliance Seminary and have been deeply inspired by the Alliance thoughts and history. I have a heart to build up a church that is not self-centered, but out-reaching, and that is not self-sufficient, but dependent on God.

Consider Partnering by:

Trust and trust and trust. Trust in the spirit of the Lord, that he will revive His church. Trust in us, the ministers of the spirit, that we will faithfully serve the Lord according to His will. Trust in the provision of the provision of the Lord, that He is Adonai-jireh. For the first trust, please pray for a great end-time revival. For the second trust, please pray for us that God continues to pour His Spirit upon us to faithfully preach the good news to the people who are poor, lowly and afflicted, who are hungry and seek with eager desire, and who weep and cry out now. For the third trust, please pray that God will provide the resources we require to meet the needs of the people of God through natural and supernatural means.
