The Gathering Point held its first service in October 2008. Initially the church started with three committed families, but the Lord has been so faithful and The Gathering Point has seen incredible growth since its first service. The church has been actively fulfilling its purpose of being a light in the community and giving people an opportunity to see the church in a different light. 

Pastor Scott has a heart for Lantz and the East Hants area as he lived there for the first nineteen years of his life. He desires to share the Gospel with those who have not heard about Jesus and he wants the church to be a place where believers will also be challenged to grow deeper in their faith and in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Scott also wants seekers and prodigals to feel comfortable, welcomed and loved at The Gathering Point as they seek the Lord and embrace His forgiveness and His grace. 

Leadership Provided by: 

Neither Scott nor Chrystal grew up serving the Lord but by the grace of God they were both invited to an evangelical church in the late 1990’s where on separate occasions they gave their hearts to the Lord. In the early years of their Christian walk they both learned individually and as a couple many valuable lessons and gained a great deal of wisdom through the many trials they faced early on in life.  

In January 2008, the Lord started to stir in their hearts that their time studying at Briercrest was nearing the end. While prayerfully seeking direction for the future God clearly spoke to Scott and guided him to move back to Scott’s hometown of Lantz, Nova Scotia to start a church. They knew that this would be a demanding, potentially stressful, yet rewarding undertaking. With the Lord’s strength and peace they knew in their hearts that they could do it!
